Biography
Ms. Felicity June Kuri
Ms. Felicity June Kuri is a Gender Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Specialist and a PhD Candidate undertaking fieldwork on the Influence of Socio-economic Dimensions on Women's Empowerment in the Banana value chain at Egerton University. She also holds a Master's degree in Gender and Development Studies.
Ms. Felicity has expansive experience in gender mainstreaming and advocacy, women and youth empowerment, gender research, capacity building, and training. She is well-versed in gender analysis, gender assessments, and audits and ensures gender-responsive programming. She has undertaken interdisciplinary research individually and in collaboration across disciplines, including agriculture, food security, culture and education, and training regarding gender and social dynamics.
She is actively engaged in coffee farming in Meru, Kenya, thus giving her first-hand experience of the changing aspects of coffee production and marketing. Her passion for gender and agricultural value chains is strengthened in planning and attending seminars in gender-responsive pedagogy, Women's Empowerment for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods, and courses that focus on Addressing Gender and Food Security Issues in Local Food Markets and Value Chains organized by Wageningen University.
